Job Summary

This position performs Computed Tomography (CT) scans to create cross-sectional images of tissues and internal organs to be used by physicians in diagnosis and treatment of patients.

Job Description

• Minimum Qualifications
• Education: Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
• Licenses/Certifications:
• Certified in Basic or Advanced Life Support, required.
• Current license or temporary license by the Texas Medical Board (MRT), required.
• Registered CT Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-CT) or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB(CT)) in Computed Tomography.
• One of the following along with documented training on the provision of diagnostic CT exams:
• Registered Radiology Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-R) or
• Registered Nuclear Medicine Technologist by ARRT-N or
• Certified by NMTCB.
• Experience / Knowledge / Skills:
• Minimum of one year of experience as a CT Technologist or two years as a Radiological Technologist with CT education or experience, preferred.
• Ability to lift and maneuver patients in conjunction with others.
• Principal Accountabilities
• Performs CT scans: prepares patients, explains procedures, administers contrast, positions patients, selects imaging techniques, and ensures scan quality.
• Enters and monitors patient data.
• Performs quality assurance on CT equipment and may assist with accreditation applications.
• Reports accidents, complaints, or equipment malfunctions.
• May work weekends and float to other locations as needed.
• Ensures safe care, adheres to policies, manages time and supplies, and maintains productivity and quality.
• Supports professional growth, serves as preceptor and mentor, and contributes to department goals.
• Creates compassionate and personalized experiences, modeling Memorial Hermann’s service standards.
• Other duties as assigned.
