A leading medical imaging provider is seeking a registered PRN CT Technologist for its Conyers, GA location. Qualifications

  • Graduate from an approved Radiological Technology program is necessary.
  • Must have ARRT and CT Registry certification.
  • Current BLS/CPR certification is required.
  • CT scanner operation and training.
  • CT anatomy and knowledge of medical terminology.
  • RIS and PACS knowledge and operation.
  • Organized, detail oriented, observant.
  • Calm and effective communicator, helpful and sympathetic.

Responsibilities

  • Perform CT examinations as ordered and critique images for diagnostic quality.
  • Provide thorough explanation of procedures to patients.
  • Verify patient information and obtain medical history.
  • Position patients appropriately for ordered exam and assist on/off examination table.
  • Verify patient information and obtain comprehensive medical history including prior studies.
  • Obtain consent for IV contrast and manage adverse effects.
  • Perform venipuncture for administration of IV contrast.
  • Prepare and administer contrast media according to established practices.
  • Utilize scanner per manufacturer guidelines and coordinate service as needed.
  • Utilize PACS and RIS for image processing and documentation.
  • Maintain safe environment and prepare room for each patient.
  • Perform daily and monthly QA procedures on scanner.
  • Follow ALARA, Image Gently and Image Wisely for safe radiation practices.
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and Corporate Compliance.
  • Initiate basic life support when necessary.
  • Use infection control practices.
  • Maintain punctuality and regular attendance.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Job description

American Health Imaging is looking for a registered PRN CT Technologist for Conyers, GA location. This is a PRN role, with hours from either 7AM to 10PM.

Job Summary

As a registered CT Technologist, you will perform high quality scans while providing excellent customer care and service to patients!

Responsibilities
  • Perform CT examinations as ordered and accurately critique images to ensure diagnostic quality.
  • Choose appropriate protocol and technical factors according to age, size and symptoms of patient
  • Provide thorough explanation of procedure to the patient, anticipating and responding to patients’ needs and questions
  • Position patients appropriately for ordered exam and assist patients on/off examination table as needed.
  • Verify patient information and obtain comprehensive medical history including any related prior studies
  • Obtain consent for administration of IV contrast and follow established practices to provide treatment, documentation and follow-up in the case of any adverse effects of IV contrast administration
  • Perform venipuncture for administration of IV contrast
  • Prepare and administer contrast media according to established practices
  • Utilize scanner within manufacture guidelines and take appropriate action for service as needed
  • Utilize PACS and RIS for image processing and accurate documentation
  • Maintain clear and safe environment, which includes preparing room for each patient
  • Perform daily and monthly QA procedures on scanner
  • Follow ALARA principles, Image Gently and Image Wisely to insure safe radiation practices.
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with all HIPAA and Corporate Compliance regulations

Qualifications

  • Basic proficiency with computer monitors, keyboard and mouse for scanning, RIS and PACS use

Physical Demands of the Position
  • Lifting, moving, positioning and assisting of patients on/off examination table
  • Walking 25% of shift, standing 50% of shift, sitting 25% of shift
