Job summary

A leading medical imaging provider in Athens, GA is seeking a registered PRN CT Technologist. This role involves performing high-quality CT scans while providing excellent patient care. Ideal candidates will be graduates of an accredited Radiological Technology program and must hold an ARRT and CT Registry. Comprehensive benefits are available from the first day. Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Radiological Technology program.
• Must hold an ARRT and CT Registry.
• Current Basic Life Support training is required.
• CT scanner operation training.
• CT anatomy and medical terminology knowledge.
• Familiar with RIS and PACS systems.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality CT examinations as per orders.
• Ensure diagnostic quality by critiquing images accurately.
• Assist patients on/off examination table, providing explanations.
• Position patients and assist on/off table.
• Verify patient information and obtain medical history.
• Obtain IV contrast consent and manage adverse reactions.
• Administer IV contrast and prepare contrast media as needed.
• Operate scanner per manufacturer guidelines and perform QA.
• Use PACS and RIS for processing and documentation.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and prepare rooms.

American Health Imaging is looking for a registered PRN CT Technologist for Athens, GA location. This is a PRN role, with hours from either 7AM to 8PM.

Job Summary

As a registered CT Technologist, you will perform high quality scans while providing excellent customer care and service to patients!

Responsibilities

• Perform CT examinations as ordered and accurately critique images to ensure diagnostic quality.
• Choose appropriate protocol and technical factors according to age, size and symptoms of patient
• Provide thorough explanation of procedure to the patient, anticipating and responding to patients’ needs and questions
• Position patients appropriately for ordered exam and assist patients on/off examination table as needed.
• Verify patient information and obtain comprehensive medical history including any related prior studies
• Obtain consent for administration of IV contrast and follow established practices to provide treatment, documentation and follow-up in the case of any adverse effects of IV contrast administration
• Perform venipuncture for administration of IV contrast
• Prepare and administer contrast media according to established practices
• Utilize scanner within manufacture guidelines and take appropriate action for service as needed
• Utilize PACS and RIS for image processing and accurate documentation
• Maintain clear and safe environment, which includes preparing room for each patient
• Perform daily and monthly QA procedures on scanner
• Follow ALARA principles, Image Gently and Image Wisely to insure safe radiation practices.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with all HIPAA and Corporate Compliance regulations
• Initiate basic life support actions when necessary
• Use infection control practices
• Maintain punctuality and regular attendance
• All other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Graduate of approved program for Radiological Technology
• ARRT and CT Registry required
• Current BLS/CPR training
• CT scanner operation and training
• CT anatomy and knowledge of medical terminology
• Knowledge of operation system of CT scanner, RIS and PACS
• Basic proficiency with computer monitors, keyboard and mouse for scanning, RIS and PACS use
• Organized, detail oriented, observant
• Calm and effective communicator
• Helpful, patient and sympathetic

Physical Demands of the Position

• Lifting, moving, positioning and assisting of patients on/off examination table
• Walking 25% of shift, standing 50% of shift, sitting 25% of shift
