Job summary

Texas Health Denton is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) for PRN Labor and Delivery. The role supports perioperative care for infants through older adults in a 12-bed labor and delivery unit with NICU and OB/ED bays.

PRN, rotating shifts, with opportunities to participate in a high-volume obstetric environment. Requires CST certification and prior OR experience; LVN and BCLS credentials are considered. Join a collaborative team at THR.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required; prior health care facility experience preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program required.
• CST certification NBSTSA or TS-C NCCT required.
• LVN upon hire and BCLS certification required.
• 1 year OR experience preferred; Labor and Delivery experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Intra-operatively displays skills and behavior conducive to desirable outcome.
• Assist in peri-operative patient care for a broad age range.
• Support RN circulator in preoperative planning and care.
• Coordinate patient care peri-operatively under supervision.
• Assist RN circulator with postoperative duties and instrument handling.
• Participate in infection prevention to minimize contamination risk.
• Contribute to continuous quality improvement and cost-effective care.

Education

High School Diploma or Equivalent

Graduate of accredited surgical technology program

CST – Certified Surgical Technologist (NBSTSA)

Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) upon hire

BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support
