Job summary

Traylor Retirement Community in Roanoke, Alabama is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA/L) to assist the Registered Occupational Therapist in providing rehabilitation therapy across patient ages with temporary or chronic disabilities.

Responsibilities include planning therapy programs, documentation, splint fabrication, and ensuring patient safety and progress. Alabama licensure costs are covered by the employer; prior SNF experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA/L) with current certification.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and patient evaluation/charting.
• Two years of SNF experience desired; Alabama licensure coverage provided.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Registered Occupational Therapist (OTR) in providing rehabilitation therapy to patients of all ages.
• Plan therapy programs in collaboration with the OTR.
• Prepare and fit splints for upper and lower extremities as ordered.
• Document treatment data and patient progress as required.
• Maintain orderly treatment area and records; ensure patient safety during therapy sessions.
• Transport patients to and from the department as needed.
