Job summary

Henderson Health & Rehabilitation Center in Henderson, NC seeks a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) for PRN therapy services in a skilled nursing setting. You will support residents under the supervision of an OT, helping them improve daily living skills and independence.

Responsibilities include implementing treatment plans, guiding therapeutic activities, maintaining progress notes, and coordinating with nursing staff and families to ensure consistent care.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
• Current NC COTA license or registration as required.
• Experience in skilled nursing or long-term care is beneficial.
• Ability to assist residents with mobility and lift up to 50 pounds if required.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out occupational therapy interventions according to the supervising OT’s plans.
• Guide residents through activities to improve coordination, movement and Daily Living Skills.
• Help residents practice dressing, grooming, and other functional tasks.
• Observe responses and communicate progress to the supervising therapist.
• Complete treatment notes and maintain clinical records accurately.
• Coordinate with nursing staff, rehab colleagues, residents, and families.
• Reinforce techniques and adaptive strategies for safe participation.
• Attend care conferences and contribute to quality therapy services.
• Travel to nearby facilities when needed to support patient care.
