Job summary

HealthMark Rehabilitation in Abilene, TX is seeking a PRN Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to provide therapy services for residents and short-term patients at our Abilene facility. Weekdays and weekends availability required.

The PRN COTA will develop and implement plans of care, document progress, and ensure compliance with regulations. Texas licensure as a COTA is mandatory, with experience in geriatric rehab preferred.

Qualifications

• Must hold Texas license/certification for appropriate discipline: COTA.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Organizational and analytical skills required.
• Ability to function effectively in multi-faceted systems and to interact with all levels of staff and customers.
• Demonstrates time management and organization.

Responsibilities

• Provides therapy services in accordance with physician’s orders and accepted professional practices.
• Develops a plan of care to include treatment, duration, frequency and discharge plan with measurable goals.
• Performs skilled treatments according to the established plan of care.
• Documents observations, patient response to interventions, and progress within stated timeframes.
• Completes all required documentation and billing in accordance with state and federal regulations.
• Maintains rehab gym equipment and treatment area with infection prevention practices.
