Job summary

PruittHealth is seeking a PRN Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in Clearwater, FL to support residents under the supervision of the evaluating therapist.

Responsibilities include executing the OT plan, documenting tasks, following policies, and participating in orientation and trainings. The role requires a valid state license and NBCOT eligibility or certification.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid professional license in the state of practice.
• Graduate of an ACOTE accredited program and eligible for NBCOT or has passed NBCOT.
• Foreign-trained applicants must meet US qualification standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the execution of the occupational therapy care plan and treatment as prescribed.
• Perform clinical tasks and document them timely and accurately.
• Follow policies related to scope of practice and safety.
• Recognize priorities in patient care and respond accordingly.
• Complete orientation, trainings, and in-services successfully.
• Perform other duties as directed by supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the execution of the occupational therapy care plan and treatment to patients as prescribed by the evaluating therapist and physician according to the State Practice Acts
• Perform clinical tasks, and communicate and document tasks in a timely and accurate manner
• Follow established policies and procedures as related to the scope of practice
• Recognize and respond to priorities in patient care
• Complete all required orientation, in-services, and trainings successfully
• Perform other related duties as necessary and as directed by supervisor

Qualifications

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• Valid professional license in the state of practice
• Graduate of ACOTE accredited school and eligible to take or has passed the NBCOT exam. If foreign-trained, must meet the same qualifications as U.S. educational program requirements
