Job summary

NaphCare, Inc. seeks an Observer (PRN) to join the Alabama Department of Corrections - Tutwiler Prison for Women in Wetumpka, Alabama.

The Corrections Observer will work alongside medical staff and correctional officers in a controlled environment with a focus on patient observation and safety. Responsibilities include suicide watch observations, crisis intervention, documentation, and participation in daily rounds.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to effectively interact with institutional and clinical staff.
• Subject to initial and ongoing security clearance requirement.
• A background check, security clearance and drug screening are required for this role.
• Evening, night and weekend shift availability.

Responsibilities

• Conduct one-on-one observation of patients at risk of self‑injury or suicide.
• Conduct rounds on suicide watch under supervision of a licensed professional.
• Document and communicate observations in the patient’s medical record.
• Perform crisis intervention and de‑escalation as indicated.
• Monitor patients and promote prosocial behavior.
• Participate in unit treatment team planning and morning reports.
