Job summary

Encore at Foulk is seeking a PRN Cook to join our kitchen team. You will prepare meals in accordance with sanitary regulations and standardized recipes, and assist in pre-meal prep under the supervision of the Sous Chef/Manager.

The role emphasizes strict adherence to HACCP protocols and timely production distribution, while maintaining a clean, safe work environment. Evening, weekend, and holiday availability is often required in this PRN position.

Qualifications

• Must have batch cooking knowledge and use of standardized recipes.
• Knowledge of sanitation and cross-contamination policies.
• Good communication and ability to follow written instructions.
• Willingness to work overtime, holidays, and weekends as needed.
• Detail-oriented with high accuracy daily.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to sanitation and food handling protocols.
• Prepare food per sanitary regulations and policies.
• Assist in pre-meal preparation.
• Ensure food follows standardized recipes and diet orders.
• Maintain temperature documentation per HACCP.
• Distribute production on time and in required quantities.
• Maintain a safe, clean work environment daily.
• Assist Sous Chef/Manager with new menu items.
• Notify Sous Chef/Manager of inventory needs.
• Assist in directing kitchen staff.
• Protect resident confidentiality as required.
• Follow dietary procedures per policy.
• Comply with Encore Village safety policies.
• Present self with proper appearance and hygiene.
• Attend in-service training.
• Keep prep and storage areas clean and organized.
