Job summary

Homestead Village, Inc. in Lancaster, PA, seeks a compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our Life Plan Community as a PRN team member.

You will support residents’ independence and dignity under the supervision of licensed staff. Responsibilities include assisting with bathing, daily living activities, documenting vitals, and ensuring a safe, comfortable environment in a 56-bed skilled nursing facility.

Qualifications

• CNA license required.
• High School diploma or better.
• 1 year of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain an organized, neat, safe, secure, comfortable environment for every resident.
• Provide resident care per care plan using Point of Care tools.
• Follow instructions from Licensed Nursing Staff and adhere to Homestead Village policies and procedures.
• Assist residents with bathing and hygiene, solo or in a team.
• Assist with ambulation and transfers using devices as directed by care plan.
• Respond promptly to call bells regardless of assignment.
• Record vital signs and data daily on the data sheet.
• Document care provided during the shift (ADLs, ambulation).
• Assist with dining needs and monitor intake/output; weigh as instructed.
• Observe residents and report changes to charge nurse.
• Interact respectfully with residents, families, visitors and staff.
• Perform all resident care as assigned and per nursing department policies.
• Participate in activities for residents as directed.
• Wash residents’ personal laundry as needed.
• Perform cleaning and other duties as assigned.

Homestead Village is a thriving non-profit, CARF-CCAC accredited, Life Plan Community located just outside downtown Lancaster. We are seeking a highly skilled, enthusiastic, & passionate Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our compassionate community as we enhance independence and dignity for all our Residents.

Location - The Apostle Center for Care, 56-bed Skilled Nursing Facility

Base Pay: Determined based upon years licensed and experience. Newly licensed CNA's start at $18.00; Plus applicable shift & weekend differentials

• $1.50 additional from 3:00pm-11:00pm
• $0.75 additional from 11:00pm-7:00am

Essential Job Responsibilities and Objectives:

• Maintain an organized, neat, safe, secure, comfortable environment for every resident.
• Utilize Point of Care and care plan to provide resident care.
• Adhere to instructions issued by the Licensed Nursing Staff/Household Coordinator and perform duties in accordance with established Homestead Village routines, methods and techniques, and in compliance with Homestead Villages’ policies, procedures, standards and practices.
• Work alone or as a team giving total care or assist residents with bathing and hygiene.
• Ambulatory transferring, positioning by using assistive devices such as a walker, wheelchair, mechanical lifts, gait belt or assigned therapeutic devices as directed on resident care plan.
• Answer call “bells” promptly regardless of assignment.
• Collect data such as temperatures, pulses, respirations, blood pressures and record onto data sheet daily.
• Record care as provide during the shift such as ADL’s and ambulation.
• Assist residents with dining needs (this includes assisting in country kitchen), maintain intake and output as requested, weigh resident as instructed.
• Observe residents and reports physical and/or behavioral changes immediately to charge nurse.
• Interact tactfully, respectfully and cooperatively with residents, families, visitors and the entire staff throughout the organization.
• Perform all resident care as assigned and according to Homestead Village nursing department’s policies and procedures.
• Participate in activities for residents as directed.
• Wash residents’ personal laundry as needed.
• Perform cleaning and all other duties as assigned
