Job summary

Heartspring is seeking a Certified Medication Aide (CMA) to support the health, safety, and well-being of children and young adults with neurodevelopmental disabilities across residential group homes in Wichita, KS.

You will prepare, administer, and document prescribed medications, verify records, monitor inventory, and collaborate with RNs and direct care staff to ensure accurate care and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• 6+ months CMA/CNA experience preferred.
• Current CMA or CNA certification.
• CPR and NCI certifications maintained.
• Experience with neurodevelopmental disabilities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, administer, and document prescribed medications for Heartspring students.
• Verify medications and records for accuracy before administration.
• Administer insulin per protocols and orders.
• Maintain documentation and tracking of controlled substances.
• Monitor inventory and coordinate refills.
• Prepare medications for travel and activities.
• Receive/check pharmacy deliveries and cycle-fill medications.
• Assist with distribution to residential group homes.
• Ensure storage and labeling meet Kansas DCF requirements.
• Complete required medication and refrigerator temperature checks.
• Communicate health concerns to RNs/APRNs.
• Report medication changes to care teams.
• Review medication records for accuracy.
• Record vital signs and growth measurements as ordered.
• Restock first-aid supplies in classrooms and homes.
