Job summary

Bethesda Chevy Chase Surgery Center is hiring a PRN Certified Surgical Technologist to support the sterile field and assist the surgical team during ambulatory procedures at our Bethesda, Maryland campus.

Position requires weekdays only with no holidays, weekends, nights or on-call shifts; requires High School Diploma or GED and a Surgical Technician program, plus state/center certification; prior ambulatory center experience is preferred; compensation reflects experience and center guidelines.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED; completion of a Surgical Technician Program and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Certification as required by state and/or center
• Previous experience in an ambulatory surgical center is strongly preferred
• Must possess a strong knowledge of surgical procedures and management of the surgical patient
• Understanding of aseptic techniques and their implementation
• Ability to quickly adapt to changing condition of the patient when needed

Responsibilities

• Scrubs for surgical procedures and maintains a sterile field throughout operations
• Prepares supplies, instruments, and equipment related to procedures
• Supports the surgical team and participates in quality improvement activities
