Job summary

HSHS St. John's Hospital seeks a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our rehab team in a PRN capacity in Springfield, IL.

You will evaluate assigned patients and implement treatment plans approved by the plan of care, directing therapy services and educating patients and families. Ideal candidates hold current OTA licensure in the state, BLS certification, and are prepared to obtain licensure within 6 months if required.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited OT A program meeting licensure requirements.
• Current state licensure as OTA required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or completion within 90 days of employment.
• Illinois licensure within 6 months if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate all assigned patients and develop and execute treatment plans as outlined by the plan of care.
• Delegate and direct therapy services to discipline-specific staff.
• Educate patients, families, students, coworkers, and self-professional advancement.
• Perform other professional duties related to care, development of therapy program services, and interdisciplinary teams.
