Houston Physicians Hospital is hiring a Cath Lab Registered Nurse to join our dedicated team in Texas. The Cath Lab RN will assist in interventional cardiac procedures, monitor patients, and ensure high-quality care before, during, and after procedures.

We seek candidates with nursing degrees, Texas RN licensure, BLS (ACLS preferred), and prior Cath Lab experience. The role emphasizes patient safety, teamwork, and strong clinical skills in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current Texas RN license.
• Current BLS certification; ACLS certification required or obtainable.
• Experience in a Cardiac Cath Lab setting preferred.
• Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and patient management.
• Understanding of aseptic technique and its implementation.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to demonstrate creativity, accountability, and receptiveness to change.

Responsibilities

• Assist in cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology studies, and other interventional procedures.
• Monitor patient vitals, sedation levels, and overall condition during procedures.
• Administer medications, IV fluids, and contrast agents as needed.
• Educate patients and families on pre-procedure preparation and post-procedure care.
• Ensure strict adherence to infection control and patient safety protocols.
• Collaborate with physicians, radiology techs, and cardiovascular technologists to ensure seamless patient care.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient care, procedural details, and any complications.
• Respond swiftly and effectively to emergency situations, including cardiac events.
• Ensure that all equipment is properly maintained and ready for use.
