Job summary

Homestead Village Inc. is seeking a Personal Care Aide to support residents with daily activities, including bathing, dressing, meal planning, and light housekeeping. The role focuses on maintaining a safe, clean living environment and providing companionship.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with bathing, dressing, incontinence management, grooming, and mobility as needed.
• Plan and prepare meals according to dietary requirements.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and healthy living environment with light housekeeping.
• Provide companionship and accompany clients to appointments.
• Run errands such as grocery shopping when needed.
• Perform other duties as indicated in the care plan.

Job description

The duties of a Personal Care Aide may include, but are not limited to the following:

• Assist client with his/her completion of bathing, dressing, incontinence management, wayfinding, grooming, etc. (Client participates in task completion.)
• Planning and preparing meals according to specific dietary requirements of the client.
• Maintaining a safe, clean and healthy environment through light housekeeping including changing bed linens, dusting and vacuuming, mopping floors, cleaning kitchen and bathroom, and laundry.
• Providing companionship and stimulation for the client including reading, walks, etc.; and accompanying the client to doctors or other appointments.
• Grocery shopping or other errands when needed.
• Performing other housekeeping tasks as indicated in the care plan.

Employee May Not:

• Cut the toenails of any client.
• Operate any type of mechanical lift device.
• Perform any type of heavy housework such as cleaning stoves with oven cleaners, moving heavy furniture or appliances, etc.
