Job description

Responsibilities

  • Provide on-call, as-needed coverage for cardiac, vascular, and thoracic surgery services at VHC, Inpatient and ER.
  • Manage a limited number of inpatient cases, with a focus on post-operative care and management.
  • Perform both cardiac and thoracic surgeries as needed, with an emphasis on urgent or emergent procedures.
  • Maintain a high standard of care and quality in all patient interactions and procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with mid-level providers for patient care support.

Minimum Requirements

  • MD or DO.
  • Currently licensed or able to obtain the license in Virginia.
  • Successful completion of residency program in Cardiothoracic Surgery Fellowship training in Cardio or Thoracic Surgery.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Cardiothoracic Surgery.
  • Training and familiarity in the use of EPIC (EMR) preferred.
