Responsibilities
- Provide on-call, as-needed coverage for cardiac, vascular, and thoracic surgery services at VHC, Inpatient and ER.
- Manage a limited number of inpatient cases, with a focus on post-operative care and management.
- Perform both cardiac and thoracic surgeries as needed, with an emphasis on urgent or emergent procedures.
- Maintain a high standard of care and quality in all patient interactions and procedures.
- Work collaboratively with mid-level providers for patient care support.
Minimum Requirements
- MD or DO.
- Currently licensed or able to obtain the license in Virginia.
- Successful completion of residency program in Cardiothoracic Surgery Fellowship training in Cardio or Thoracic Surgery.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Cardiothoracic Surgery.
- Training and familiarity in the use of EPIC (EMR) preferred.
