Job summary

Bel Aire Recovery Center in Bel Aire, Kansas, is seeking a PRN Behavioral Health Associate I to join the treatment team onsite. You will monitor client behaviors, supervise activities, and assist in data collection while maintaining a safe, supportive environment across shifts from 7a-3:30p, 3p-11:30p, and 11p-7:30a.

The role requires CPR certification and de-escalation training, high school diploma, and at least six months of related experience.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Six months or more experience working with the specific population preferred.
• Knowledge of common psychiatric disorders and/or dual diagnosis and various treatment modalities of the population served preferred.
• CPR certification and de-escalation training required (training available upon hire and offered by facility). First aid may be required based on state or facility requirements.

Responsibilities

• Ensures the wellbeing of clients and provides a safe, positive, supportive, and structured environment.
• Maintains supervision of clients and conducts safety checks.
• Interacts routinely with clients, observes behaviors, and communicates significant observations to supervisor.
• Encourages attendance at group therapy and promotes client participation in unit activities.
• Takes and records vital signs properly and communicates significant changes in client’s condition to the charge nurse.
• Charts in client records accurately and in a timely manner.
• Applies de-escalation techniques to help manage client emotions and participation in treatment.
• Receives shift reports and provides thorough handoff to oncoming staff.
