WVU Medicine's Department of Emergency Medicine seeks a PRN Advanced Practice Provider (PA or NP) to practice at Berkeley Medical Center in Martinsburg, West Virginia. The APP collaborates with physicians, nurses, and other health professionals to assess, diagnose, treat, and manage emergency patients.

Qualified candidates will have PA or NP degrees, state licensure eligibility, and BLS with ALS; experience in emergency medicine or urgent care is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a CCNE accredited nursing program with Master’s Degree in Nursing.
• National APRN Certification.
• Licensure or eligibility for licensure as an APRN/PA.
• CNOR Certification is required.
• BLS Certification with ALS training as per department.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s in PA; ARC-PA training program required.
• Certification by NCCPA required.
• Must be licensed or eligible for PA/NP licensure.

Working collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, the APP assesses, diagnoses, treats, and manages patients within their scope of practice and area of specialty. The APP is responsible for delivering evidence-based care, promoting positive patient outcomes, maintaining professional and regulatory standards, and supporting the clinical, educational, and operational goals of the department and organization.

Additional Job Description

WVU Medicine and the Department of Emergency Medicine seeks a PRN Advanced Practice Provider (PA or NP) to practice at Berkeley Medical Center in Martinsburg, West Virginia.

Duties

The successful candidate will practice in the areas of Emergency Medicine & The EM Observation Unit. In addition to providing comprehensive outpatient clinical care to patients in an emergency medicine capacity and establish preventive health practices for patients.

Qualifications

Candidate must have a PA or NP degree and be eligible for state medical license. All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR NURSE PRACTITIONER

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE

1. Graduate of a CCNE accredited nursing program with Master’s Degree in Nursing.
2. National Certification by one of the recognized APRN Certification Centers.
3. Licensure, or eligibility for licensure, as a professional Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania.
4. CNOR Certification required.
5. BLS Certification required with additional Advanced Life Support training at the discretion of the department.

EXPERIENCE

1.Emergency medicine/ Urgent care experience preferred.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE

1. Bachelor’s Degree as Physician Assistant, or Master’s Degree as Physician Assistant required.
2. Graduate of an ARC-PA approved Physician Assistant (PA) training program required.
3. Certification by the National Commission for Certification of Physician Assistants required.
4. Must be licensed or eligible for licensure by the PA Board of Medicine.
5. BLS Certification required with additional Advanced Life Support training at the discretion of the department.

EXPERIENCE

1. Emergency Medicine/ Urgent care experience preferred.
2. Eligible new graduates will be considered.
