Qualifications

Gateway Rehab Center (GRC) in Center Township, PA, is looking for a dedicated PRN Treatment Support Technician 1 to join our Adolescent Program team. This is your chance to play a hands-on role in creating a safe, supportive environment where young individuals can heal, grow, and thrive. This is an overnight shift.

Responsibilities

  1. Facilitates discussion groups and activities.
  2. Monitors patient behavior.
  3. Conducts handbook orientation.
  4. Conducts searches of patient belongings, rooms, and person.
  5. Acts as a liaison between clinical staff and patients.
  6. Assists patients in completion of patient assessment forms.
  7. Monitors patients' phone calls to families.
  8. Assists with crisis intervention.
  9. Documents involvement with patients in progress notes.
  10. Collects urine and completes paperwork for drug screening as necessary.
  11. Provides post-discharge contacts/referrals under therapist direction.
  12. Monitors medication taken by clients and documents accordingly, if applicable.
  13. Works in the gift shop, if applicable.
  14. Manages menu and nutrition needs, if applicable.
  15. Manages donation and patient requests, if applicable to the location.
  16. Monitors smoke breaks in the hospital setting, if applicable.
  17. Completes intake paperwork as needed.
  18. Monitors clients’ ADLs - including chores, behaviors, and grooming issues.
  19. Remains on duty until relieved.
  20. Communicates information to the treatment team.
  21. Monitors patient treatment assignments.
  22. Other duties as assigned.
  23. Attends mandatory GRC trainings and in-services.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  1. Knowledge of 12 step programs and/or other recovery support and/or addictions preferred.
  2. Ability to adhere to ethical guidelines and maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
  3. Ability to convey information in a clear and concise manner.
  4. Ability to listen to patients without judgment.
  5. Ability to show empathy and understanding to patients.
  6. Knowledge of adolescent behavior management and care preferred.

Requirements

  1. High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Requirements

  1. Some college preferred.

Additional Requirements

  1. PA Criminal Background Check.
  2. PA Child Abuse and FBI Fingerprinting Clearances.
  3. Pass Drug Screen.
  4. TB Test.
  5. Obtain CPR/First Aid training.
  6. This position requires mandatory staffing coverage when necessary to provide a safe treatment environment for Gateway residents.
  7. Required to remain awake and alert while on duty.
  8. If living a life of recovery, must attest to at least 18 months in recovery from substance use disorder.

Work Conditions

  1. Extended care facility treating those with substance use disorders.
  2. Favorable working conditions.
  3. Minimal physical demand.
  4. Moderate mental demands to respond to patients' simultaneous requests.
