Job summary

ECU Behavioral Health Hospital in Greenville, NC seeks a dedicated Admissions RN to support the hospital's start-up admissions team. This PRN role involves reviewing documentation, coordinating with physicians, and guiding patients through the admissions process.

You will work night or evening shifts with weekend coverage as needed, collaborating with medical and psychiatric staff to ensure timely admissions and high quality care for patients and families.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Nursing required.
• At least 1 year of clinical or observational experience in the relevant area.
• Active nursing license in the state with CPR and de-escalation certification.

Responsibilities

• Review medical documentation for admissions and obtain admission orders.
• Complete medication reconciliation and obtain admission orders from physicians.
• Facilitate emergency transfers for patients with medical conditions beyond our facility's capabilities.
• Review referrals from hospitals, facilities, and community agencies, assessing medical and behavioral acuity and responding within designated timeframes.
• Respond to inquiries about our facility, providing appropriate recommendations and information.
• Conduct assessments to determine the appropriate level of care within our facility.
• Collaborate with medical and psychiatric personnel to ensure appropriate recommendations and admissions.
• Complete initial pre-authorization for treatment and admission within payor timeframe guidelines.
