Job summary

Shield Consulting Solutions, Inc. seeks a Software Engineer with active TS/SCI w/Polygraph to join in Maryland. You will engineer, integrate, and sustain the Delinea Tools Suite on Linux, ensuring secure credential management and PAM capabilities.

You will collaborate with security, infrastructure, and DevOps teams to implement IAM practices and secret automation, while supporting large Linux clusters and CI/CD integrations.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software engineering experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline; or 2 additional years of experience in lieu of a degree.
• Experience with Python and Java.
• Strong Linux administration experience (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu).
• Hands-on with Delinea products (Secret Server, Privilege Manager, or DevOps Secrets Vault).
• Experience with LDAP/Active Directory/FreeIPA.
• Familiarity with IAM, PAM, and secret management in CI/CD.
• Experience with Ansible and SaltStack.
• Docker/Podman and secret handling patterns.
• Experience sustaining large Linux clusters and day-to-day ops.

Responsibilities

Job Description

• The Software Engineer shall be responsible for the engineering, implementation, integration, and sustainment of the Delinea Tools Suite in a Linux environment.
• This role ensures secure credential management, privileged access controls, secrets management, and automation capabilities that align with mission security and compliance requirements.
• The Software Engineer shall serve as the SME for all Delinea technologies running on Linux systems and shall collaborate closely with security, infrastructure, and DevOps teams.

Required Experience

• Experience using the Linux CLI and Linux Suite of Tools
• Experience developing scripts using Bash/Python
• Recent software development experience using Python and Java
• Strong background in Linux administration such as RHEL, CentOS, Rocky, Ubuntu
• Hands‑on experience implementing or supporting at least one Delinea product (e.g., Secret Server, Privilege Manager, DevOps Secrets Vault)
• Experience integrating Delinea with directory services (LDAP, Active Directory, FreeIPA).
• Understanding of identity and access management (IAM), privileged access management (PAM), certificate‑based authentication, and security best practices
• Experience troubleshooting system‑level issues in distributed environments, including logs, services, networking, and authentication
• Familiarity with API‑based integrations, RESTful services, and secrets automation in CI/CD pipelines
• Experience with IaC (Infrastructure as Code) principles and automation tools such as Ansible and SaltStack
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker, Podman, and associated secret‑handling patterns
• Experience with the sustainment and support of large Linux clusters including day‑to‑day operations, monitoring and problem resolution

Desired Experience

• Experience with the Atlassian Suite of Tools such as Jira and Confluence
• Experience supporting enterprise security tools or working in a cybersecurity‑focused software engineering role

Salary: $230,000 - $240,000 annually
