John A. Logan College is seeking talented Applied (Private) Music Instructors to provide individualized instruction and mentorship to students pursuing their musical and academic goals.

The role focuses on developing technical proficiency, musicianship, and performance skills, preparing students for recitals, juries, and transfer opportunities. The position is part-time in Carterville, IL, with compensation of $280 per enrolled student for fourteen 30-minute lessons and $560 per enrolled student

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Music from a regionally accredited institution; or Master’s Degree with 18 graduate semester hours in Music.
• Demonstrated expertise in the applied performance area for which instruction is assigned.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized instruction in assigned musical discipline to support student learning and achievement.
• Develop students' technical proficiency, musicianship, performance skills, and discipline-specific competencies.
• Design and deliver instruction aligned with course outcomes and program objectives.
• Prepare students for juries, recitals, transfer auditions, performances, and other instructional assessments as appropriate.
• Evaluate student learning and provide timely, constructive feedback to support continuous improvement.
• Foster a positive, respectful, and inclusive learning environment that encourages student engagement and artistic growth.
