Job summary

A utility locating company in St. Louis, Missouri is seeking a Private Utility Locator to use advanced technologies like Ground Penetrating Radar to identify and map underground utilities. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and a valid state-issued driver’s license. Responsibilities include marking utilities and conducting audits. A company vehicle will be provided, and some evening shifts are required.

Qualifications

• Two or more years working experience in the field as a Utility Locator Technician.
• Must possess a valid state-issue Driver’s License (Missouri or Illinois).
• Understanding of local and state utility operating procedures and 'on-call' laws.

Responsibilities

• Identify, locate, and mark all utilities on the customer's designated property site.
• Verify and double-check the accuracy of the locates by others.
• Perform Dig-up Risk Based Audits of the area included in the scope of work.

Ability to manage multiple tasks

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Superior customer service skills

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook 365)

Experience reading CAD, GIS files
