Job summary

The City of Thornton is seeking an enthusiastic lesson instructor to lead private lessons in the designated area. You will deliver engaging instruction under supervision, keep detailed records, and structure progression for participants at varying levels.

Qualifications include being at least 16, one year teaching in recreation or six months with Thornton, CPR and First Aid, and swim-instruction training for private swim lessons.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old and have teaching experience in a recreation setting or six months with City of Thornton in the specified area.
• CPR and First Aid certifications, or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
• IPAP training or swim instruction certification for private swim lessons.

Responsibilities

• Instruct private lessons in the specified area under general supervision.
• Keep accurate records of lessons and progress for participants.
• Prepare and plan lessons and provide a structured progression.
• Provide quality customer service to participants and parents.
• Ensure safety measures and respond to emergencies; maintain accident reports.
• Set up and tear down equipment and perform other duties as assigned.
