Job summary

Steps to Serenity in Virginia Beach seeks a Licensed Professional Counselor to deliver outpatient therapy, lead group sessions, and contribute to treatment planning in person and online. You will develop programs, document records per HIPAA, and participate in CEU training, with a flexible, hybrid schedule and competitive pay between $40 and $50 per hour.

Virginia license required (LPC or equivalent); bilingual abilities are a plus.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree from an accredited counseling or social work program.
• Current Virginia LPC or SW license (LSATP or CSAC accepted if LPC resident).
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with clients, families and colleagues.
• Experience providing therapy and working with diverse populations.
• Knowledge of outpatient therapy methods; confidentiality and ethics
• Spanish speaking abilities are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct individual and group therapy sessions.

Job Description

Steps to Serenity is a growing private practice that is looking for those that want to make a meaningful impact on the lives of those seeking therapy. As a Professional Counselor at Steps to Serenity, you will play an integral part in delivering quality mental health care, including outpatient counseling in an in office and virtual setting, and in group sessions. You can provide therapeutic support, facilitate group discussions, and contribute to treatment planning and implementation. You will be empowered to create clinical programs in your specialty, learn about practice management, or become a Supervisor of Residents all with the support of Steps to Serenity’s leadership and administration.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct individual and group therapy sessions.
• Develop and implement treatment plans, tailored to the needs of a diverse client population.
• Provide education and support to clients in managing their mental health.
• Document and maintain accurate client records in our EHR in compliance with ethical standards, confidentiality requirements, and practice timelines.
• Practice within state, federal, and provincial laws/regulations and professional ethical standards, including following HIPAA and (42 CFR pt 2) CRF regulations.
• Participate in training sessions to enhance professional skills and meet CEU requirements as well as attend staff meetings.
• Commit to a minimum of 12 clinical hours per week for a part-time status or 24 clinical hours for a full-time status.

Education Requirements

• Master’s degree from an accredited counseling or social work program is required.
• Current and valid Virginia LPC or SW License. (Will accept LSATP or CSAC if also a registered LPC resident)

• Spanish speaking capabilities are especially helpful.

Pay: $40.00 - $50.00 per hour to start
