Job description

About Rockefeller Capital Management

Rockefeller Capital Management was established in 2018 as a leading independent financial advisory services firm. Originally founded in 1882 as the family office of John D. Rockefeller, the Firm has evolved to offer strategic advice to ultra- and high-net-worth individuals and families, institutions, and corporations from offices in 30 markets throughout the United States, as well as an office in London. The Firm oversees $151 billion in client assets as of December 31, 2024.

Position

As part of the Rockefeller Global Family Office (RGFO), the Investment Due Diligence team is responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and monitoring investment managers and strategies across a broad range of asset classes and vehicles, including separately managed accounts, mutual funds, exchange-traded funds, interval and tender offer funds, and various semi-liquid and illiquid private funds.

The Private Markets Due Diligence Analyst will provide comprehensive and objective assessments of funds focused on private investments, including conducting qualitative and quantitative analysis, developing market insights, and providing guidance to support the Firm’s advisors and clients. While the Analyst is expected to maintain broad coverage responsibilities across private markets asset classes, there will be some emphasis on private credit, specialty/asset-based finance and real assets strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Source and lead the due diligence process for new top-tier investments as well as high quality emerging funds.
  • Gather and review relevant materials, hold meetings with fund managers, assess portfolio holdings and performance track records, and prepare detailed memos to present findings and recommendations to investment committees.
  • Contribute to the new investments pipeline by working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain ongoing diligence/monitoring of approved strategies on a regular and ad hoc basis by engaging with fund managers in direct meetings, attending annual general meetings, reviewing investor/risk reports and conducting performance and risk analysis.
  • Ensure primary coverage conforms with established policies and procedures.
  • Develop and maintain current knowledge on industry and asset class trends, market events, and other developments relevant to alternative asset managers, high net worth and institutional clients.
  • Partner with RGFO’s CIO Office to help identify high conviction managers and strategies that align with the firm’s macroeconomic views for implementation.
  • Participate/contribute to various other Firm activities and initiatives, meetings, presentations and projects as needed.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5-7+ years of experience in the financial services industry.
  • Understanding of private investment strategies and asset classes (e.g., private equity, venture capital, private debt, private infrastructure).
  • Experience in private markets due diligence at a wealth management, asset management, or consulting firm strongly preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills and financial acumen.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Self-starter with attention to detail, intellectual curiosity, and ability to move quickly up the learning curve.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proactive, prompt follow-up and responsiveness.
  • Resourceful with ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point.
  • Undergraduate degree from an accredited institution required; concentration in finance, accounting, economics, or other technical field preferred.
  • FINRA Series 7 license is required or willingness to obtain within 120 days of hire.
  • CFA or CAIA designation is preferred but not required.

Compensation Range

The anticipated base salary range for this role is $150,000 to $165,000. Base salary for the role will depend on several factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience, and may fall outside of the range shown. In addition, this role may be eligible for a discretionary bonus. Rockefeller Capital Management offers a comprehensive benefit package including health coverage, vacation time, paid leave, retirement plan, and more.
