Responsibilities

Private home companion/caregiver to help an autistic young lady

Job Description
Monday - Friday either 8am to 2pm or 8:30am to 2:30pm.

This job is to give support in the way of ADLs to a young lady in her home. She is 20 years old but cognitively much younger.

Looking for someone that is seriously wanting this job and long term. We will invest in the right person!

Calling out to Special needs teachers, assistants, and nurses to consider this job.

We Need Someone That

1. has high experience in special needs (especially autism)
2. has a strong work ethic
3. has high motivation
4. can actively listen with empathy
5. is organized/detail oriented
6. is a team player
7. has a calm and composed personality
8. must be able to walk long periods (a block or two)
9. must like dogs since this young lady has a Golden Doodle therapy dog.

Days will be mostly just hanging out at home but she needs help here and there. Sometimes there will be outings to get some walking exercise either outdoors or at a store. Once a week she goes shopping at Target. Sometimes an outing might just be a car ride in a car provided.

Training will be given to learn how to avoid behaviors such as learning her trigger words and situations she doesn’t like. You will always have support in this role from her parents.

The pay is $20 to $22 an hour with performance bonuses given quarterly.
