Job summary

Atar Capital in Los Angeles seeks an Analyst/Associate, Business Development to support deal origination and proprietary pipeline development. You will source, screen, and preliminarily analyze potential investments aligned with the firm’s strategy, working with senior leaders in a fast-paced private equity environment focused on lower middle market opportunities.

You will manage market research, CRM systems, banker outreach, and coordination with management teams, gaining exposure to Directors

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or related field preferred.
MBA preferred but not required for Associate level.
1–4 years in investment banking, private equity, consulting, corporate development, finance, or BD.
Exposure to M&A transactions or financial analysis preferred.
Familiarity with lower middle market businesses preferred.

Responsibilities

Deal Origination: source new acquisition opportunities and build proprietary deal pipeline.
CRM & Research: manage CRM systems and research platforms; coordinate banker outreach.
Deal Screening & Evaluation: review teasers/CIMs, perform preliminary business analysis and financial review.
Relationship Development: coordinate with investment bankers and management teams; participate in meetings.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: work with Investment, Operations, Finance, and Legal teams; assist in reporting and process improvements.
