Position: Investment Associate
About the Opportunity
A leading global private equity firm with a long-standing track record of investing across energy, infrastructure, industrials, and real assets is looking to make a key hire in Houston.
Due to continued growth, we are seeking a Spanish-speaking Investment Associate to join the Houston investment team.
This individual will play a key role in evaluating and executing investments throughout North America and Latin America, working closely with senior investment professionals on acquisitions, portfolio management, financial analysis, and transaction execution. The role offers significant exposure to complex cross-border investments and direct interaction with senior management teams, advisors, and investors.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate investment opportunities across energy, infrastructure, industrial, and real asset sectors.
- Build and maintain detailed financial models, valuation analyses, and investment return scenarios.
- Conduct commercial, financial, operational, and strategic due diligence.
- Prepare investment memoranda and present findings to senior investment committees.
- Support all phases of transaction execution, including acquisitions, financings, restructurings, and exits.
- Monitor portfolio company performance, including financial reporting, operational initiatives, and strategic projects.
- Coordinate with management teams, lenders, legal counsel, consultants, and external advisors throughout the investment lifecycle.
- Conduct industry research and identify new investment themes and market opportunities.
- Participate in business development activities and help cultivate relationships with intermediaries, management teams, and industry executives.
- Support investments throughout Latin America, requiring regular interaction with Spanish-speaking counterparties.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Engineering, or a related discipline with an outstanding academic record.
- 2–5 years of relevant experience in private equity, investment banking, corporate development, infrastructure investing, or a comparable investment role.
- Strong financial modeling, valuation, and transaction execution experience.
- Experience evaluating M&A transactions and performing financial due diligence.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong commercial judgment.
- Ability to manage multiple live transactions in a fast-paced environment.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- Native or professional fluency in both Spanish and English is required.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
Preferred Experience
- Experience within energy, infrastructure, industrials, natural resources, or real assets.
- Exposure to leveraged finance, project finance, or structured transactions.
- Prior experience at a top-tier investment bank or private equity firm.
