• Approximately four years of experience in private equity, growth equity, investment banking, or a related transaction role (software / technology coverage strongly preferred but not required)
• Strong modeling, diligence, and written communication skills
• Comfort operating in a lean environment with limited hierarchy and high ownership
• Genuine interest in enterprise software, recurring-revenue business models, and value creation

Responsibilities

• Support end-to-end deal execution across buyouts and add-on M&A
• Build and maintain financial models (LBO, operating models, returns analyses)
• Lead or contribute to commercial, financial, and operational diligence
• Prepare investment committee materials, CIMs screening notes, and portfolio updates
• Partner with management teams, advisors, and lenders throughout processes
• Help source and screen opportunities in vertical SaaS, application software, and tech-enabled services
• Support portfolio companies on KPIs, board materials, and bolt-on acquisition work

Christopher Whitney is working with a growing, software-focused private equity firm based in Los Angeles. The firm was founded by senior investment professionals from leading technology PE platforms and invests in lower middle-market enterprise software and tech-enabled businesses.

This is a lean deal-team seat with meaningful ownership across the full investment lifecycle — from sourcing and diligence through closing and portfolio support.

The Opportunity

You will join a small, high-caliber investment team building a platform dedicated to software. Expect direct exposure to partners, real accountability on live processes, and a chance to help shape an early-stage firm while investing in durable B2B software businesses.
