Job summary

First Day Homecare in the United States is seeking Registered Nurses and Licensed Practical Nurses for weekend day and night shifts in home health care. You will assess, plan, and provide nursing services under a care plan, reporting to the Clinical Supervisor.

The role emphasizes strong communication, adherence to nursing standards, patient safety, and collaboration with the care team to maintain quality home-based care for clients in Ohio. A valid RN license or LPN license and CPR are required.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
  • Current RN license in the state of operation.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Licensed driver with automobile insured in accordance with state and/or Agency requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Assumes responsibility and accountability for the practice of professional nursing in accordance with the state Nurse Practice Act and standards for home health nursing.
  • Performs physical assessments of clients. May complete comprehensive assessments for client admissions and reassessments at the discretion of the Clinical Supervisor.
  • Supervises Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurses (LPN/LVNs) and/or Home Health Aides (HHAs) at the discretion of the Clinical Supervisor.
  • Reports changes in client condition promptly to the medical practitioner overseeing care as well as to other members of the client’s care team.
  • Participates in the development of the client care plan.
  • Maintains confidentiality in all aspects of the job.
  • Delegates tasks to LPN/LVNs and HHAs based on their scope of practice.
  • Performs other duties as deemed necessary.

POSITION SUMMARY

Provides services to clients in accordance with the state Nurse Practice Act, Agency policy, and accepted professional standards of practice. The Registered Nurse (RN) provides nursing services utilizing a comprehensive base of nursing theory under the direction of a medically approved care plan.

Reports to: Clinical Supervisor

Provides supervision to: NA - No supervision responsibilities

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing. BSN preferred.
  • Current license as a Registered Nurse in the state of operation.
  • Demonstrated strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Licensed driver with automobile insured in accordance with state and/or Agency requirements.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY
  1. Assumes responsibility and accountability for the practice of professional nursing in accordance with the state Nurse Practice Act and standards for home health nursing.

  6. Consistently demonstrates competency with technical nursing skills according to personal and legal scope of practice.
  7. Practices nursing with respect for individual, cultural, and spiritual differences.
  8. Follows Agency policies and procedures as well as payor and accreditation requirements.
  9. Initiates actions to improve the quality of client care and to prevent negative client outcomes. Continually promotes safety and infection prevention and control practices.
  10. Maintains confidentiality in all aspects of the job.
  11. Participates in ongoing, professional self-development.
  12. Delegates tasks to Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurses (LPN/LVNs) and/or Home Health Aides (HHAs) based on their legal scope of practice and where circumstances require.
  13. Performs other duties as deemed necessary.
