Job summary

First Day Homecare - Ohio is seeking a Registered Nurse for weekend coverage in our Dayton, OH service area. The RN will provide nursing services under an approved care plan, working under the direction of a Clinical Supervisor to deliver high quality home health care. The role requires an active RN license in Ohio, CPR certification, and a valid driver’s license.

BSN is preferred. This position emphasizes patient safety, confidentiality, and adherence to agency policies within home health

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing. BSN preferred.
  • Current license as a Registered Nurse in the state of operation.
  • Demonstrated strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Licensed driver with automobile insured in accordance with state and/or Agency requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Assumes responsibility and accountability for the practice of professional nursing in accordance with the state Nurse Practice Act and standards for home health nursing.
  • Performs physical assessments of clients.
  • Supervises Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurses (LPN/LVNs) and/or Home Health Aides (HHAs) at the discretion of the Clinical Supervisor.
  • Reports changes in client condition promptly to the medical practitioner overseeing care as well as to other members of the client’s care team.
  • Participates in the development of the client care plan.
  • Consistently demonstrates competency with technical nursing skills according to personal and legal scope of practice.
  • Practices nursing with respect for individual, cultural, and spiritual differences.
  • Follows Agency policies and procedures as well as payor and accreditation requirements.
  • Initiates actions to improve the quality of client care and to prevent negative client outcomes.

MWF 11a-3p

Provides services to clients in accordance with the state Nurse Practice Act, Agency, policy, and accepted professional standards of practice.

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides nursing services utilizing a comprehensive base of nursing theory under the direction of a medically approved care plan.

REPORTS TO: Clinical Supervisor

PROVIDES SUPERVISION TO: NA – No supervision responsibilities

QUALIFICATIONS

  3. Supervises Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurses (LPN/LVNs) and/or Home Health Aides (HHAs) at the discretion of the Clinical Supervisor.
  4. Reports changes in client condition promptly to the medical practitioner overseeing care as well as to other members of the client’s care team.
  5. Participates in the development of the client care plan.
  6. Consistently demonstrates competency with technical nursing skills according to personal and legal scope of practice.
  7. Practices nursing with respect for individual, cultural, and spiritual differences.
  8. Follows Agency policies and procedures as well as payor and accreditation requirements.
  9. Initiates actions to improve the quality of client care and to prevent negative client outcomes. Continually promotes safety and infection prevention and control practices.
  10. Maintains confidentiality in all aspects of the job.
  11. Participates in ongoing, professional self-development.
  12. Delegates tasks to Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurses (LPN/LVNs) and/or Home Health Aides (HHAs) based on their legal scope of practice and where circumstances require.
  13. Performs other duties as deemed necessary.
