Job summary

Alexander Chapman is seeking an Associate for its Secondaries & Portfolio Finance team in New York. The role focuses on innovative capital solutions with exposure to portfolio finance, NAV-based lending, GP financing, LP interest financings, and credit secondaries.

You will evaluate opportunities, build complex financial models, and lead due diligence while coordinating with GPs, lenders, and intermediaries.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in investment banking, private equity, private credit, or related role.
• Strong financial modeling and analytical capabilities.
• Experience with complex transaction structures, due diligence, and execution.
• Exposure to fund-level or asset-level valuation, NAV analysis, and cash flow assessments.
• Understanding of private market investment structures and risk.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work with senior investment professionals and external stakeholders.
• Intellectual curiosity and interest in secondaries, private credit, and innovative strategies.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate private equity and credit investment opportunities across secondaries and portfolio finance.
• Build and analyze sophisticated company-, fund-, and GP-level financial models.
• Support and lead transaction due diligence and coordinate diligence requests.
• Prepare investment memoranda for internal committees.
• Conduct market and investment research and develop independent views.
• Work directly with GPs, intermediaries, lenders, and other stakeholders.
• Monitor existing investments and participate in GP/advisory board meetings.
• Contribute to investment research, market analysis, and knowledge sharing.
• Leverage AI tools and technologies to improve analysis, workflow, and execution.
