Job summary

Troubadour Golf & Field Club, part of Discovery Land Company, seeks a Waste Collection Supervisor to oversee private-club waste and recycling operations outside Nashville. You will lead a team, manage safety, coordinate with departments, and drive sustainability initiatives to meet high-member service standards.

This full-time role emphasizes planning, staff development, and cost control in a discreet, member-facing environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical or supervisory training preferred.
• 3+ years’ experience in commercial/refuse collection, waste management, or facilities operations; 1+ year in a supervisory role preferred.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Demonstrated knowledge of local waste regulations and recycling best practices.
• Strong leadership, communication, and scheduling/organizational skills.
• Ability to lift and assist with heavy containers when needed; ability to work early mornings, weekends, and during events.

Responsibilities

• Supervise waste collection team: hiring, training, coaching, scheduling, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions.
• Monitor and enforce safety procedures; conduct safety briefings; maintain safety records.
• Oversee vehicle and equipment maintenance; routine inspections and vendor coordination.
• Manage inventory of waste-handling supplies, PPE, and recycling containers; approve purchases and control costs.
• Coordinate with clubhouse operations, culinary, events, and grounds teams to adjust service levels while minimizing disruption.
• Implement and monitor recycling and waste-reduction initiatives; track diversion rates and improvements.
• Maintain professional, discreet presence around members and staff; address concerns promptly and diplomatically.
• Prepare operational reports and KPIs for leadership.
• Develop and update SOPs for collection procedures, event support, and emergency response.
• Directly supervise waste collection drivers and auxiliary staff; set expectations and coverage.
• Lead onboarding, skills development, and cross-training programs.
• Drive team culture emphasizing safety, discretion, timeliness, and member service.
