Job summary

1872 Consulting in Chicago, IL seeks a Senior Tax Manager to lead private client engagements for high-net-worth individuals, families, trusts, and estates. You will be the main client contact, offering proactive tax planning ideas and coordinating with partners and senior managers.

You will mentor junior staff, review complex returns, and leverage tax technology to improve processes while delivering exceptional client service and strong relationships.

Qualifications

• Active CPA license
• 5+ years of public accounting tax experience (7+ preferred)
• Expertise in individual, gift, estate, and trust income tax compliance
• Experience advising clients and explaining technical issues clearly
• Strong engagement, team leadership, and communication skills
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field

Responsibilities

• Lead private client engagements and balance competing deadlines
• Review complex individual, gift, estate, and trust income tax returns
• Advise high-net-worth clients on tax planning and solutions
• Serve as a primary client contact and build long-term relationships
