WithumSmith+Brown, PC in Red Bank, NJ is seeking a Private Client Services Tax Supervisor to lead audit engagements and tax work for high-net-worth individuals and estates.

You will supervise staff, mentor team members, review complex returns, and provide tax planning for clients, while traveling as needed and delivering exceptional service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting is required.
• Licensed CPA or actively pursuing CPA certification.
• Master of Science in Taxation is preferred.
• At least 4 years of public accounting experience.
• Exceptional client service and communication skills.
• Strong leadership, training, and mentoring abilities.
• Ability to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead all aspects of audit engagements from planning to completion.
• Review high net worth individual returns and fiduciary accounts.
• Provide tax planning and consulting for estate and individual taxes.
• Research complex tax matters and draft memoranda.
• Oversee billing, supervise staff, and mentor seniors and supervisors.
• Develop opportunities for clients and maintain relationships.

Their services include Business, Individual, State & Local tax, R&D Tax Credit, as well as International and Private Client services.This Private Client Services Tax Supervisor role will be based out of our Red Bank, NJ office. You'll work alongside an integrated team of seasoned, well-known CPAs and industry leaders. But our commitment goes beyond our clients as we continue to live the Withum Way, promoting personal and professional growth for all team members, clients, and surrounding communities.How you'll spend your time:Reviewing high net worth individual returnsReviewing of fiduciary accountings for estates and trustsReviewing complex gift, estate, and fiduciary income tax returns, including related schedules and formsProviding tax planning and consulting to our firm’s high net worth client for estate and individual income taxesResearching and consulting on various estate, gift, and trust related issues, such as trustee and beneficiary issues, Crummey obligations, and generation skipping tax issuesIdentifying additional estate and income tax planning opportunities for clientsOverseeing billing and collections of clientsManaging, coaching, and mentoring staff, seniors, and supervisorsResearching and drafting memorandum involving complex tax mattersIdentifying and implementing tax planning opportunitiesOverseeing complete tax research projects for a variety of clients and diverse industriesManaging multiple engagements concurrently with various teams to efficiently meet client deadlinesConducting constructive discussions with team members on their evaluations and providing counsel accordinglyServing in professional development programs as an instructor or discussion leaderThe kinds of people we want to talk to have many of the following:Bachelor’s Degree in AccountingLicensed CPA, or working towards CPA certification with parts passedMasters of Science in Taxation is preferred but not requiredAt least 4 years of public accounting experienceExceptional client service and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain outstanding client relationshipsAbility to manage multiple engagements and competing projectsStrong leadership, training, and mentoring skills, coupled with excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills to represent the Firm well to client’s managementExcellent analytical, organizational, project management skills, strong attention to detail, and proven innovative problem-solving skillsAbility to travel as neededThe compensation for this position ranges from $85,000 – $140,000. In addition to the base compensation, Withum offers a, competitive benefits package and bonus program (for eligible roles) based on individual and firm performance. Final offer amounts are based on multiple factors such as the specific role, hiring location, as well as the individual’s skills, experience and qualifications.
