Job summary

The AmLaw 100 firm in New York City seeks an Associate Attorney for the Private Client Services Practice Group. You will work with high-net-worth individuals on complex trust and estate matters in a collaborative, team-oriented environment with a hybrid schedule.

Ideal candidates have JD from a top-tier school, NY Bar or waive-in, an LL.M., and 5–7 years of estate and tax planning experience, with strong drafting and administration skills.

Qualifications

• JD from a top-tier law school with a strong academic record.
• New York Bar Admission or ability to waive in.
• LL.M. and strong tax background required.
• 5-7 years of substantive law firm experience in estate and tax planning for high-net-worth individuals.
• Drafting and estate administration skills, including experience with complex wills and trusts.
• Proficiency in preparing client presentations, tax calculations and analysis, and administering estates from probate through closing.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently and manage client contact.
• Supervisory skills to direct paralegals in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Advise high-net-worth clients on trust and estate matters, including estate planning, tax strategies, and administration.
• Draft complex wills and trusts tailored to client needs.
• Manage the administration of estates from probate through final closing, ensuring all tax filings and legal requirements are met.
• Prepare client presentations and conduct tax calculations and analyses.
• Collaborate with a team of attorneys and paralegals to deliver superior client service.
