Job summary

A&O Shearman in New York seeks a talented Private Client associate with a focus on trusts and estates to join a collaborative, high-caliber team. You will draft wills, trust documents, and related estate planning materials, and assist in administration, tax planning, and fiduciary matters for high-net-worth clients.

The ideal candidate has a JD from an accredited law school, admission to the New York bar, and prior trusts/estates experience (JD years 2022-2023).

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school
• Must be admitted to the New York bar
• Previous Trust and Estate experience
• JD years 2022-2023

Responsibilities

• Draft a broad range of estate planning documents such as wills, trust agreements, assignments, advance directives, and promissory notes
• Assist with estate and trust administration matters such as surrogate's court proceedings, accountings, and receipt and release agreements
• Prepare summary memos and estate planning flowcharts
• Conduct legal research and analysis
• Draft client communication

Education

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Admitted to New York bar
