Job description

ARS is seeking a Private Capital Project Specialist to serve as a critical liaison between government innovation programs, entrepreneurs, and the investment community. This role will help create and implement programs designed to increase private investment in technology companies supporting defense innovation. The ideal candidate will combine strong project management capabilities with experience in investment analysis, market research, and strategic communications to accelerate the commercialization of dual-use technologies.

Responsibilities include:

  • Build and maintain relationships with venture capital, private equity, and other investment entities interested in defense technology
  • Conduct market research and engage with private investors to support project curation and execution
  • Perform operational and network mapping to understand and design effective program activities
  • Develop quantitative analysis in support of strategy development and operational performance
  • Assist with contracting activities and documentation in support of program leadership
  • Create compelling content including technical writing, presentations, reports, and white papers
  • Support the development of investment strategies and capital formation approaches for technology companies
  • Track metrics and analyze outcomes of capital formation activities
  • Identify opportunities to enhance private investment in defense innovation ecosystem
  • Develop and deliver briefings to internal and external stakeholders on investment trends and opportunities
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications/ Technical Experience Requirements:

  • Must be a US citizen
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in project management, investment analysis, or related fields
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to gather and analyze complex data sets
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams
  • Experience with customer/stakeholder relationship management
  • Capability to translate complex technical and financial concepts for varied audiences
  • Proficiency with data analysis tools, presentation software, and collaboration platforms
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required security clearance

Desired Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field
  • Experience with defense acquisition programs or government contracting
  • Background in venture capital, private equity, or investment banking
  • Knowledge of small business innovation research (SBIR/STTR) programs
  • Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) certification
  • Experience with technology commercialization or technology transfer activities
  • Understanding of dual-use technology applications and defense market opportunities
  • Background in startup ecosystem development or entrepreneurship support
