Job summary

Nick Rail Music in Santa Barbara, CA seeks a part-time brass teacher to provide one-on-one private lessons in-store to students of varied experience. We welcome teachers who can develop personalized curricula and work Fridays and/or Saturdays with flexible scheduling.

The ideal candidate has experience teaching brass instruments (trumpet, trombone, horn, tuba, euphonium, sousaphone) and can communicate effectively with students and parents. This is a woman-owned business encouraging diversity.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching brass instruments (trumpet, trombone, horn, tuba, euphonium, sousaphone).
• Ability to teach one-on-one with children and adults.
• Excellent communication with students and parents.
• Availability on Fridays and/or Saturdays.
• Schedule flexibility to build student base.
• Ability to develop individual curriculum.

Responsibilities

• Teach private brass lessons in-store.
• Develop tailored lesson plans for each student.
• Schedule and manage student bookings and billing.
• Assist with recital planning and performances.
• 1–2 teaching days per week, with potential for more in the future.
