The Position

We are hiring an Intellectual Property Attorney for the Los Angeles, CA office. The role requires a strong litigation background and focuses on intellectual property, technology transactional law and litigation, privacy, AI and data governance, internet law, advertising law, and other related industry‑specific areas.

Key Responsibilities

• Day‑to‑day management of a litigation caseload and counsel clients in IP, data privacy technology, and AI governance/compliance.
• Work closely with other attorneys and Partners on legal projects.
• Act as part of a team that prosecutes and defends lawsuits involving copyrights, trademarks, trade secrets, trade libel, data privacy (including online tracking technologies), and rights of privacy/publicity.
• Advise clients on data privacy compliance, AI governance, and data governance matters, including preparation and review of privacy notices, internal privacy and security policies, procedures and controls, third‑party risk management, risk assessments, and internal training.
• Advise clients on a wide range of transactional matters including purchase and sale agreements for creative assets, collaboration agreements, software development agreements, licensing agreements, etc.
• Communicate with clients and provide status reports.

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school.
• Must be admitted to practice in the State of California.
• 5–15 years of experience with intellectual property litigation.
• Federal/State court litigation experience required; demonstrated ability to write and argue motions.
• Experience taking/defending depositions required.
• Experience with privacy, AI and data governance and/or data privacy litigation strongly preferred; interest in developing expertise.
• Experience with advertising law, art law, fashion law, internet law, and/or transactional matters is a plus.
• Demonstrated track record of thought leadership in IP is a strong plus.
• Excellent analytical, writing, client‑service, and professional communication skills.
• Legal project management experience is helpful.

Compensation

Salary range: $180,000–$210,000 USD. Eligible for discretionary bonuses. The position is full‑time and includes benefits such as 401(k), medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance.
