Job summary

Google seeks a Regulatory Counsel, Privacy, to join a Global team that interprets laws and advises internal teams on data protection and regulatory compliance. You will mitigate risk, partner with stakeholders, and help communicate compliance externally.

As part of Google Legal, you will navigate the crossroads of law and technology, supporting product and engineering teams while addressing evolving privacy regimes and regulatory expectations worldwide.

Qualifications

• JD or equivalent degree and bar admission (or in-house status) in the state of the position.
• 7 years of experience with legal, regulatory, or corporate compliance and addressing regulatory risk.
• 7 years of attorney-level experience in government, in-house, or at a law firm.
• Experience advising on global privacy and data protection laws.

Responsibilities

• Interpret laws and compliance obligations; advise teams on requirements.
• Provide legal advice on compliance programs and policies to mitigate risk.
• Manage government/regulator discussions, negotiations, and disclosures on compliance readiness.
