Job summary
HCSC is seeking a privacy attorney/analyst to analyze, draft, and negotiate agreements across the Privacy Office while ensuring compliance with HIPAA and other federal/state laws. The role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to drive privacy initiatives and resolve moderately complex matters.
The candidate should have a law degree or equivalent experience in healthcare privacy, strong negotiation and analytical skills, and the ability to work with leadership and external partners.
Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree in Business or Legal AND 4 years in healthcare OR 8 years in healthcare.
- Knowledge of and experience interpreting federal and state laws.
- Knowledge of HCSC’s various functional areas and departments.
- Ability leading departmental or divisional projects.
- Negotiation, analytical, facilitation, communication and presentations skills.
- PC proficiency to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Responsibilities
- Analyze, draft, and negotiate various agreements for the Privacy Office.
- Support and drive key privacy initiatives and projects.
- Analyze applicable privacy laws and assess impact on operations and processes.
- Collaborate with Privacy Office and stakeholders to resolve privacy matters.
- Serve as privacy subject matter expert when negotiating with customers, vendors, and third parties.
