Job summary

Lumen Technologies, Inc. is seeking a senior privacy lawyer to serve as a primary legal contact for Privacy, Procurement, and Trust & Safety teams. The role provides counsel on data privacy, security requirements, and law enforcement requests across global operations.

The ideal candidate has a J.D. with an active U.S. State Bar license, 5–8+ years in privacy law, and experience negotiating data processing agreements, privacy evaluations, and AI governance issues.

Qualifications

J.D. degree from an accredited law school.
Active license to practice law in a U.S. State.
5–8+ years of legal experience focused on privacy and data protection (GDPR, CCPA, etc.).
Experience drafting and negotiating data processing agreements and SCCs.

Responsibilities

Provide legal guidance on privacy and data protection in business transactions.
Review privacy impact assessments, data protection assessments, and data transfer assessments.
Develop and deliver privacy training to internal teams and management.
Review law enforcement requests for Personal Information and assess legal sufficiency.
Collaborate with Trust & Safety and cross-functional teams on privacy program maturation.
Advise on AI governance, deployment, and regulatory compliance for AI/ML products.
