Job summary

Capital One seeks a Manager, Compliance Privacy Advisor to join the Privacy Compliance team in McLean, VA. You will drive privacy risk mitigation and ensure adherence to federal, state, and international privacy laws while guiding business lines through privacy controls and remediation efforts.

You will act autonomously, adapt quickly, and lead privacy risk initiatives with a focus on collaboration, governance, and regulatory alignment. Travel to other Capital One sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or military experience is required.
• At least 3 years of experience in privacy, compliance, legal, risk management, or audit.

Responsibilities

• Actively follow privacy trends and new privacy laws domestically and internationally.
• Maintain subject matter expertise on applicable privacy laws and regulations such as FCRA, GDPR, CCPA, GLBA, COPPA, CAN-SPAM.
• Provide guidance on privacy risks of business initiatives and changes, and support business lines.
• Consult with legal counsel on privacy compliance matters.
• Map legal and regulatory requirements to business processes and activities.
• Advise on application of privacy requirements, controls, monitoring, and remediation.
• Engage with compliance testing to address privacy matters.
• Review privacy-related complaints and provide remediation guidance.
• Prepare and participate in reporting on privacy compliance activities.
• Travel to Capital One locations as necessary.

Education
