Job summary

Goldman Sachs Technology Risk seeks a self-motivated data privacy professional with a strong technical background to strengthen personal data security and implement privacy-by-design controls across the firm’s engineering landscape.

You will collaborate with Legal, Compliance, and Platform Engineering to uplift the control posture for personal data and support privacy initiatives across global regions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in information/cyber security or related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in security, technical risk management, or data protection.
• Strong data security concepts including encryption and access controls.
• Familiarity with privacy-by-design principles.
• Knowledge of SDLC and technology architecture.
• Experience with data analysis tools (Excel, PowerBI, Alteryx).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and enhance data protection initiatives focusing on technical controls.
• Drive adoption of data security controls and privacy-enhancing technologies across applications and platforms.
• Develop scalable processes to ensure data security controls operate effectively and align with privacy-by-design.
• Advise engineering teams on applying security policies and controls from the firm’s framework.
• Participate in global and regional Technology Risk initiatives to improve data security posture.
• Conduct security reviews to identify data privacy risks and propose mitigations.
• Collaborate with Legal and Compliance to translate regulatory requirements into actionable controls.
• Provide clear recommendations on personal data security and privacy-enabling controls to staff.
