Job summary

Goldman Sachs Technology Risk is seeking a self-motivated professional with a strong technical background in data security or data risk management to join a team focused on strengthening personal data security and implementing privacy-by-design principles through technical controls.

You will collaborate with Legal, Compliance, Privacy Platform Engineering, and Core Engineering to uplift the control posture and enable privacy by design across the firm.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in information/cyber security, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 1–3 years of experience in security, technical risk management, or data protection function.
• Knowledge of data security concepts: encryption, access controls, data minimization, de-identification.
• Familiarity with privacy-by-design principles and SDLC.
• Experience with data analysis tools like Excel, PowerBI, or Alteryx.

Responsibilities

• Support planning, execution, and enhancement of data protection and personal data security initiatives with a focus on technical controls and security reviews.
• Drive adoption of data security controls and privacy-enhancing technologies across applications and platforms to uplift the data privacy control posture.
• Develop scalable processes to ensure data security controls operate effectively and align with privacy-by-design principles.
• Provide guidance to engineering teams on security policies and standards and integrate controls within the Tech Risk and Control Framework for privacy-by-design.
• Participate in global, regional, and local Tech Risk initiatives to improve data security, resiliency, and controls of tech processes related to personal data.
• Conduct security reviews to identify data privacy risks and recommend technical mitigation strategies.
• Collaborate with Legal and Compliance to understand regulatory requirements (GDPR, CCPA) and translate into actionable technical controls.
• Provide clear, concise recommendations to business and technology staff on personal data security and privacy-enabling controls.
