Job summary

Qualifications

Must pass a background investigation and maintain fitness for duty via annual testing.
Must meet Albuquerque Police Department Academy Physical Fitness requirements.
Must be 21 years of age and have a valid NM driver's license.
Must obtain COP license within 6 months from date of hire.
Must pass Entry-Level Written Examination and departmental oral board examinations.

Responsibilities

Assist officers with temporary detention of prisoners at the Prisoner Transport Center.
Coordinate custody and transportation to the Metropolitan Detention Center and manage related records.
Maintain secure supervision of prisoners and enforce use-of-force standards as needed.
Administer emergency first aid and request medical support when required.
Maintain logs and write reports in accordance with SOPs.
Attend and testify in court cases as subpoenaed.
