Job summary

CA Department of Corrections & Rehabilitation is seeking a Protestant Chaplain to provide and supervise Protestant religious activities for the inmate population at Monterey County facilities.

The role operates in-office with supervision by the Community Resource Manager, and requires prior ordination, background checks, and TB testing as part of the minimum qualifications. This is a permanent, full-time position.

Qualifications

• Ordination and good standing with a nationally recognized Protestant denomination.
• Minimum qualifications as specified in the Class Specification.
• Background investigation via Live Scan prior to appointment.
• Tuberculosis testing prior to appointment and compliance with related health requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide and supervise Protestant religion activities for the prison inmate population.
• Time sheets are reviewed by the Warden or Chief Deputy Warden at the end of each month.
• Work under supervision of the Community Resource Manager.
